District 9

District 9 is a film directed by Neill Blomkamp and it was written by Terri Tatchell.
The main actors are Sharlto Copley (Wikus Van der Merwe), Jason Cope (Christopher Johnson) and David James (Koobus Venter).
The movie is based on a 2005 short film called Alive in Joburg.

Argument: The film is focuses on the city of Johanneburg, when a spacecraft stops above the city and it remained inactive. The film begins with a kind of documentary to the actors such as Jason Cope. After months of  investigation, the army enters the ship and takes the aliens to a concentration camp called District 9.The aliens were malnourished and sick. They started to eat cat food because it was like a drug for them.
There came a time when the population didn't want to have these "bugs" close, because they killed, stole... During an evacuation of this population of aliens, to take away from the city, Wikus found a spray and he opened it. After that strange things began to happen. Wikus gradually began to become an alien.
He was turned into a fugitive. After a short battle Christopher and his son repaired the spacecraft and they said to Wikus they will help him. Then they left our planet and Wikus become one of those bugs.

I think this film is linked to xenophobia: fear of foreigners or strangers or of what is foreign or strange. Earth's population was afraid of the unknown, aliens.
Racism: They separated them and they put them in ghettos (like what the Nazis did with Jews in concentration camps.
